Ran Boytner
Ran Boytner established the Archaeology Field Program at UCLA in 2008. By 2010, Boytner left UCLA to create the Institute for Field Research – the first independent nonprofit organization in the US to offer broad range of archaeology field schools. By 2021 – as the Covid pandemic waned down and archaeology activity returned – Boytner established the Center for Field Sciences, offering archaeology field school with strong emphasis on Cultural Resource Management (CRM). In 2025, the CFS Board of Directors decided to spliy into two different organizations — one to run field schools, the other to serve as an independent, diinterested third party evaluator of field schools. In 2025, Boytner was appointed to be the Executive Director & CEO of the Anthropocene Research Center, the new entity created to run and manage old CFS’s field school..

Dorian Chee
Dorian Chee joined the Center for Field Sciences at its genesis in 2021, operating first as Program Enrollment Manager. Chee was promoted to Enrollment Director in 2023. As CFS split into two different organizations in 2025, Chee is now the Director of Enrollment & External Relations at the Anthropocene Research Center.

Kevin Cilantro
Kevin Cilantro joined the Center for Field Sciences in 2022, managing all financial activities. Cilantro was promoted to Financial Operation Manager in 2024. As CFS split into two different organizations in 2025, Cilantro is now the Financial Director at the Anthropocene Research Center.
