The CFS began enrollment for nine new programs, all in Europe. These programs strongly emphasize conservation training – both at the beginners and advanced levels – of a broad range of materials and analytical methods.
Given the deep interest in learning photogrammetry, we are now offering a short training program that will include ground survey using Total Station, drone survey and the use of GIS software. Finally, we are adding a bioarchaeology lab program, focusing on mass burials and organized killings done throughout the Spanish Civil War and the initial phases of the fascist Franco regime in Spain. The following are the new programs:
- Bulgaria Greek Pottery Conservation at the Debelt Research Station
- Bulgaria Photogrammetry at the site of Pistiros
- Bulgaria Fresco Hunting in and around Sofia
- Greece Athens Physical & Chemical Analysis of Metal & Ceramic Objects
- Greece Zakenthos Conservation Survey for Beginners
- Greece Zakynthos Metal Conservation intensive course
- Greece Zakynthos Paper Conservation intensive course
- Greece Zakynthos Textile Conservation intensive course
- Spain Chelva Mass Burials of the Franco’s Regime
Please share with interested students as these new programs are sure to come very late in the field school enrollment cycle.
